Do you think that if I bring with me a book on Islamic fascism on the plane, that I will give security ideas with my brown colour and Arabic name?

A few years ago, a passenger on a plane awaiting take-off signaled for a flight attendant, because she was positive that the man next to her was a terrorist.

Why did she think that? Because he supposedly was writing in Arabic!

As it turns out, he was an Italian economist, and what he was writing was multivariable calculus, not Arabic. He was simply working on theoretical microeconomics.

So.....you don't stand a chance!

@DrWatson People are crazy lol.. It might be fun though to get out the book on the plane and scare the person next to me, and have the seat emptied to put my stuff on 🥔😚

You need be safe.

I know people who got in trouble for less because of the political climate at the time.

@Miram To tell you the truth, aside from the plane, I am worried ordering it in hard format, because it is not the sort of book they'd like here and packages can be opened, and so I don't know.. Maybe I will try to get it in soft format, will search a little more. I think it is safer

You would think that anyone interested in bringing harm, would be more stealthy than to bring such a book. 😅

@Classified Maybe I was so smart that I was playing a reverse game.. bringing that book in an attempt to have them assume that I'd probably never do anything while taking such a suspicious book that would draw attention 🥔🤨... See, told ya, potatoes are smart!

Since "Profiling," is essentially their job, it may bring attention, it may not. Seems now they're pretty focused on everything they can imagine and behavioral cues

@bijouxbroussard But there is this interesting book which I am dying to read, and I feel it would be a good read on a +14 hrs flight lol I am unable to find it online but in hard format, will search some more, maybe I will be able to get it in soft format, and then potato will save weight and suspicions lol 🥔😚
