Qantas is scrapping an A380 that is only just over 10 yrs old

The airboose a380 - the french answer to things like the Boeing 777/787 - are already at their end-of-days and proving that the economics of super-jumbo's are so thinly wedged in positivity that only a little blip is needed to destroy their viability.

VH-QQF is the first one to go. I'm a tech gunzel so take interest in these things when the economics of engineering don't stack up.

The airbus A350 is the rival to the Boeing 787,The A380 was the rival to the Boeing 747.The ideas behind the A380 are very different to the Boeing 787,the A380 being a large hub to hub plane that has the same operating costs as a 747 while being 30% bigger but it missed out on cargo carrying. The A 350 is more fuel efficient and uses more composites in its construction.

The A-380 never really made sense. To make loading/unloading efficient, airports needed to be re-designed, and that never happened, resulting in forever long passenger onboarding times.

They also needed to be filled to make money, and that was't always possible.
