I saw someone's post on here about not spending extravagantly and I'm thinking I might have to do the same!!!

I might get to buy one thing on my list, and that's it! My husband and kids will have spent a month and a week off from work so we'll be po too poor to afford the or from poor! I might be the one buying milk and eggs to get us through!!!

You can definitely stretch your grocery budget further if you’re buying ingredients instead of things that are ready made. The caveat is having the time to spend in the kitchen making things like bread and pasta sauce.

@BamPow Yes, I'll be making pasta sauce and salsa tomorrow with my aunt from my garden!! And I've got tons of meat roasts, ribs, chickens, turkeys, hams, all kinds of meat, but it's just me at home right now, so I'll settle for bacon and have a BLT sandwhich! Oh and I just washed a bunch of carrots from my garden, instead of eating something fattening like Eggo Waffles I'll eat a bowl of carrots instead if fills me up and I'm still losing weight! Yay!!!

@saintsong Garden season is the best for all that. I love making homemade salsa, especially mango habanero.

@saintsong A lot of times, I’ll smoke boneless chicken thighs ahead of time and then make smoked chicken quesadillas to go with the mango salsa. The sweetness of the mango against the smokiness of the chicken really plays well together.
