The last time i had food delivered was at work one night. We all ordered chinese food. When it was collected from reception the person collecting it thought it was a big order and asked it was all for us. The delivery driver, who spoke little English, nodded, took the cash and left. Everyone piled their plates up and halfway through the restaurant rang and a very angry man shouted that we had at least £100 of extra food so the driver was returning to collect it. I told him all the containers had been opened and food had been eaten. He shouted, it didnt matter to put the lids on and take to the driver as it was someone else's order. It turned me off getting food delivered.

@meggie Good grief! That's a feature of takeaway food that I hadn't heard of before. I haven't personally ever ordered food to be delivered and that doesn't encourage me to start!

@ninalanyon I haven't for years either, but it certainly put me off. Some of the delivery drivers get on the tube with their bikes. And the insulated box they put the food in is covered in food stains. I make all my own pizzas, burgers, curries and heat up Waitrose southern fried chicken fillets and perhaps some supermarket oven chips. It's a fraction of the cost. But at least I know what I'm eating.
