Full service sort disappeared around 1990 here in the USA. I haven't even seen it in rural areas out of state. Like in Texas in the 2000s

Now I hear Oregon might have it still. But I haven't been there in decades.

@DeWayfarer I'm confused by your earlier response to the OP. According to what I've just been reading online almost everywhere else in the USA is now self-service.
