This is heading in the right direction. Most cities here in Florida have abundant charging station capacity. It’s just a matter of time until the technology races to meet the needs of US drivers in the rest of the nation. Although I love gas vehicles, the competition is meeting the demand. Industry wide ev actual road miles on a charge is 31% less than advertised. It actually gets worse in hot (over 90 F) and cold (sub 40F) weather....as much as another 30% worse. Real live driving turns out to be different than what the government mandates for test conditions.
No to buying one. Even though GM will be offering Trucks with over 400 miles in range starting in 2024, once it starts to pull a load (trailer), the range drops to 40% of the 450 miles specified.
@Mistakesmakeus No that's not it at all. What we don't like is that we are being forced to go electric eventually. Plus, the Left doesn't have a back-up plan in place when the Grid Fails. Heck a storm went through Durham, NC last week on Tuesday (8.15.2023). As of Noon (12pm) on Sunday (8.20.2023), 11,000 people still didn't have power. See how short-sighted the Left is when striving for Total Electric Power. Oh, by the way, Durham County gets the majority of their Electric Power from Solar and Hydro-Electric sources.
