How often do you get an oil change?

Sometimes I wonder if they actually change the oil at all, and simply turn the light off.

I usually do every 5000 miles, per my car manual.

But I wonder if it can actually go longer

I read somewhere that says full synthetic can go up to 15000 miles, though I wouldn't wait that long

Changing the oil when it needs to be changed makes your car last longer, full stop. I got 251k out of my 2010 Honda Accord(before I traded it in), and I'm still running my 97 Acura. Neither engine has been apart, ever.

If you drive home after a change, pull the dipstick, and it's not a clear, golden color, they have absolutely messed with you.

@uncalled4 this guy is extremely reputable and honest, he gets so much business that you have to schedule a month ahead of time.

Hell while I was in the waiting room, people have come in for repairs or the yearly inspection, and have told him how the last place they were at ripped them off and how much they like this guy.

But yeah I know what you mean. Used to take my car to jiffy lube, that place WILL rip you off and be proud of it.
