Can someone explain engine size to me?

My car is a 3.3L but when I go to the gas station, it takes 19 gallons which is 72 liters. So then why is the engine size 3.3L?

Basically size & power. The bigger the number, the more capable it is usually. It's not about gas

If your car is a 3.3L then I'm guessing it's a V6?
