Longshot but The stereo in my car is messed up. It only plays sound in the back and it won't let me increase or decrease volume.

I've only had this car a few months. Anyone know if it's just a setting I am super annoyed and can't figure it out. Grrrr SUBARU STARLINK Harmon Kardon speakers

If it was just ghe speakers in one zone not playing despite changing the fader I would say it is likely a bad or dislodged connection to the front speakers but since it is happening along with not having volume control it sounds like a bad PCB in your stereo.

As a hardcore electronics nerd and fabricator it's kinda blasphemous of me to say but digital computer controls are pure shit for such simplistic tasks.

@MethDozer yes I have tried to mess with the settings and rebalance but nothing seems to fix it and there's not a lot of options on the display. I think I am going to have to break down and call the dealership probably not covered in my warranty 😔

@Majorlatency Another problem right is due to the covid shortages. I have 4 US suppliers I go through who have sent out insistence letters with bulk compnants I have ordered to rigourlsy pre test all new compnants for their values since right now they cannot garuntee acceptable stated value tolerances on resitors, capacitors and other componants. It comes down to the offshore manufactures being in a crunch to get compnants to market that they are sourcing through third party manufactures, lowering the spec tests frequency on the production lines, and even pulling out new old stock componants from storage. In my boutique at home assembling that is just an annoyance that I normally have to do for very sensitive circuits but now have to be doing on anything I solder together. Yet it is still feasable. For large scale commercial production by a major manufacturer it's an impossible task.
