So, my fire company has this old 1979 dodge w40 as our TAC truck (see picture below), and i've been learning how to drive it. It's a manual transmission truck and it's a blast to drive. Sadly though, we were planning on getting rid of it for a newer truck, but I don't want to see it go. If my fire company was plannng on selling it, i think i might try to buy it off them. What would i do with it? Idk. I've had the thought of tearing all the fire equipment, lights, and pumps off it and putting a pick up bed on the back of it. I don't know if it would be a good idea, but maybe you guys have an opinion or two. What do you think? Good idea? Bad? Indifferent?
