Going north in sight of the island
We are five kilometres off the island coast to the east and sailing north. When you are sailing and not using the engine you have to tack. I am non the wiser except to say you can’t sail in a straight line you have to zigzag in order to be wind driven. All good fun.
Five kilometres off shore means we are happily naked and coated in sunscreen. Chiara is very happy. Obviously our crew members are still dressed since they are working, but my daughter and I are naked, and on the prow of the yacht, on sun loungers with towels on.
We have brought minimal clothing but Chiara has her tablet which is fully equipped with WiFi like a phone. I have bikinis 👙 and dresses 👗 but I don’t intend wearing them on board. We will step ashore at Ostia on Friday evening and the yacht will return to it’s permanent mooring at Ancona.
