Thought I was being "safe" riding a pedal bike

Took my new BMX out just for a pedal around the city and crashed just coming to a stop, didn't realize it was loose gravel and the bike skidded more than expected and I went down. Ripped pants, scraped knee and hand

Isn't it ironic how sometimes the worst wrecks seem to happen in those seemingly simple easy moments versus when we are riding some gnarly trail?
