Mine is petrol fuelled but uses injection not a carburettor, electronic-controlled ignition not a contact-breaker:
Better fuel economy, no weekends having to tinker with it - which is a chore not a pleasure. I've done enough of that over the years. True, it's not something I can service myself but luckily it rarely goes wrong, and I have the vehicle serviced annually).
No surplus, fancy software though.
No "spying" - which I don't really believe anyway.
