I'm having a car issue today

So, I go to start my car today, I turned the key to on. All the dash lights came on like normal everything was fine. I go to turn the key to actually turn the ignition over, and everything went black.

The battery I believe is about 3 years old, I think I got it back in 2019. I'm leaning towards it being a battery issue only because the last time I had a dead battery, my car remote on my keychain did not work.

Normally, when I go to unlock my car, I double tap the unlock button on the remote so that it unlocks all four doors. When I did that this morning, only the single press worked. As I was getting closer to the car, I was double tapping unlock on the remote and nothing was happening at all.

I guess it could also be a fuse, I'm just thinking with the battery being at least 3 years old it's got to be a battery issue.

Any ideas what it might be?

@twiigss used to be you could tell when a battery was about to dump, now one day they work and the next they don't.

i've had batteries 10 yrs old no prob ? it could be the batt or a poor earth cable last time i had this sort of issue my wife had shut the service book in the glovebox lid so the light stayed on ??
Try a new remote battery first as it's the cheapest option, the fact that it only worked with single press may mean the immobiliser hasn't switched off presuming it has one?
