I wouldn’t say I conned him, but I did outsmart him. One great technique is to go as a married couple and go into lengthy negotiations with the wife just sitting there quietly. He thinks the husband makes the decisions. Then, when he says the price is a low as he can go, the wife stands up and announces, “That’s too high. Let’s go back to the other dealer.” That throws a wrench in his gears in a heartbeat.
