Water World

I have not seen the Sun since last Thursday.

I may not see it again until Thursday this week.

First, it was because of the remnants of Ian.

Then its swirling blob merged with an offshore trough, forming a coastal low.

Rain usually moves from west to east. Now it is moving from east to west. A conveyor belt of Atlantic water.

Non-stop drizzle!

The rain finally stopped here today and the sun came out for the first time in 3 days.

YAY!

There is a good side to it all. I heard on the radio that the local officials last week were close to declaring a drought for local rivers, and to start considering changes to reservoirs (Maybe releasing more water from them? I do not recall).

That is all over now. Rivers are rising. But the rain is not dense enough to cause too much flooding, yet. But some areas on the coast are seeing flooding. The storm is offshore.

I worked in DC for two decades. I lived in Fairfax for a decade, then moved to Maryland for cheaper rent. I have not been to Baltimore for several years. Now I work from home, so do not even go into DC much anymore. I usually go to Annapolis.

I miss the mountains of VA. When I used to live in VA I used to take day trips into them. Now, it is just too far, so I stick to the mountains of MD.
