Theme park fans: have you ever been to the Efteling?
Their theming doesn't limit itself to rides, but expands to the queues and surroundings too. From approach to exit, there's music, animatronics, props and even smells matching the theme. And throughout all that, nature is preserved and enhanced as much as possible between and within attractions.
That's amazing already on face value, but I've been watching some "making of" videos of various rides and the thought and effort that went into each area made it even more mind-blowing. And almost everything is made in-house too. All theming is for sure, but sometimes they hire an external company for the ride itself.
Even then they come up with the theme themselves first and restrict partners to the area available, requirements like sections having to be the same length, and the train design allowing them to apply their own theming.
