I Need a Vacation

When I quit my last job, I waited a week before I started my current one. I almost felt bad for not starting right away.

But now that I'm here and have learned that I cannot take a vacation until I've been here 6 months, despite having PTO, I don't feel bad about it

I’m glad you had that week off. It’s ridiculous to have to work a whole year without time off. I don’t know how it works now, but before I came to the States, we would have two-weeks off in the summer, and a week off in the winter, plus bank holidays etc. all in the first year with pay.
