Some definitely were sending money back to their families in Mexico. And the tariffs as well are costing them money.
And that's just the legal people and stuff. The people that were actually working legal jobs in both countries.

My own mother was accused of prostitution back in the sixties. Dad had to bail her out of jail. For walking on the street alone.

@DeWayfarer yeah, thats a good point. It does happen, but then theyd just be shooting themselves in the foot as it would deter tourism.
