I’m not going anywhere at least until confirmation that covid variants have stopped and at least 99% of the population are confirmed to have had both required jabs.

@Stereoguy I have two elderly parents
One of whom I haven’t seen in 16 months.
I have three children and six Grandchildren I haven’t seen in the same time frame.
I’m not about to risk their health/lives just because our idiot of a Prime Minister (who hasn’t got ONE covid policy RIGHT throughout this whole debacle btw) NOW wants everybody to go out and spend what little money they have on trying to rescue his screwed up economic recovery plan for the country

@Picklebobble2 wow. Pretty sad. I see my Mom, kids and grandkids on a regular basis. Not going to let this virus keep me from living. Not blaming anyone but China for it. At this point I make my own choices.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@carpediem Not sure if that’s ‘brave’ or daft to be honest.

There’s nothing I want more than to go and check my family are ok.
But given how I live and work 200 miles from them it makes no sense to take chances when there’s still so much uncertainty.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Picklebobble2 Based on your criteria, you won't see them again. 🤷‍♀️
carpediem · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 No uncertainty for me. But I'm also not200 miles away. Hope you're able to connect with your life again
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@sarabee1995 And why would I risk giving my elderly parents a disease I wouldn’t necessarily know I was carrying ?

That’s the problem with this nonsense.
Government wants you to assume you’re safe unless tested otherwise but you could still be a carrier even if you test negative at the point of test !
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Picklebobble2 I understand. Just be aware that based on your criteria, you won't see them again.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@sarabee1995 What’s my choice in this scenario ?
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Picklebobble2 We all have many choices every single day.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@sarabee1995 Conveniently not answering my dilemma
carpediem · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 Your dilemma is the same the world over. Some choose to continue living. Others hide waiting for the bodies to pile up. My choice is to live.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Picklebobble2 Your dilemma is not mine too answer. I'm simply pointing out that by your own criteria, you will never see them again. You can accept that or you can consider the risks and look for ways to mitigate them.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@sarabee1995 Everything is risk. But nobody can guarantee anything and until they can (not an unreasonable idea when you think about it) I choose to not make life any harder than it already is
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@Picklebobble2 I'm not disagreeing with you. Tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us.
I am simply pointing out that by the strick criteria you defined to be meet prior to you're visiting them, you will never see them again.
That is your choice.
