Trump question.

How can anyone still support him? I'm genuinely curious.

Is it afraid of admitting error? Hidden racism and xenophobia?

There has never been a better time in the history of the world to be an actual racist or xenophobe. The outraged left has completely devalued the terms to a point that nobody really gives them the credit that they deserve.

@3Dogmatic You do understand we are outraged because people are being actual racists right?
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
I understand completely. I'm just saying that the claim of racist has been so diluted, that it means less and less every day. The trigger word has lost its sting. It is time to stop with the labeling and start calling people on their actions directly imho.

@3Dogmatic I don't have a problem with that, I can call people shitty human beings without a problem ;)

Indeed.

@LesDeplorable You love to use that term, I don't think you know what it means.
In the field of psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental discomfort (psychological stress) experienced by a person who simultaneously holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values. The occurrence of cognitive dissonance is a consequence of a person's performing an action that contradicts personal beliefs, ideals, and values; and also occurs when confronted with new information that contradicts said beliefs, ideals, and values
Old rich white guys aren't a persecuted minority, you do know that right?

@LesDeplorable dude, I'm an old white guy... Comfortable but not rich though...
Hoosierxdaddy62 · 61-69, M
@Pherick he thinks it makes him sound smart. He drops an "indubitably" in once in awhile too.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@Hoosierxdaddy62 You are racist! Against yourself ... :P
Hoosierxdaddy62 · 61-69, M
Wouldn't that be cognitive dissonance?

@LesDeplorable OK let me try and explain this to you using small words.

Old rich white guys are not a persecuted minority, so of course, you can be racist towards them if you wish, but they are not suffering from systemic racism like African Americans are.

I have no idea what the rest of your babble in that last post means.
Hoosierxdaddy62 · 61-69, M
Pherick, he has labeled himself a deplorable. What else does one need to say?

@LesDeplorable Nothing excuses murder, but I am hard pressed to call whats happening racism.

Was it racism when slaves rose up in revolt during various times during our history? Of course, it wasn't, this is very similar.

@LesDeplorable I still don't think you understand this.

Systemic racism is very different than Mexicans not like Blacks. Or people from one South American nation hating a different one. Thats good old fashioned racism or just plain hatred.

What has happened in South Africa was systemic racism toward Blacks for generations. Then finally in 1994 it started to end. So unless the Blacks in South Africa are totally in power now and oppressing the white farmers through laws, and various societal pressures, then it's not racism.

It's not good obviously, but it's just a lot of generational hatred going on, not systemic racism.
