How do you achieve/maintain your confidence ?

Now that i have a bit of time on my hands i'd like to use it constructively if i can.
Any tips on how you can try something totally new to you and maintain enthusiasm for doing it ?

Taking retirement learning classes at your local community college. Or activities like hiking, etc with a senior group. You're not very senior but they might let you in! I can't guarantee the maintaining enthusiasm part, all depends on if you find something that tickles your fancy.

@Poppies Must say, been a while since my fancy has been tickled !
(*add this on the 'to do' list !)
I was thinking about taking a class or two. Maybe something practical. I'm not very practical with things like mechanics or plumbing so those kinds of things might be good.

You got me wondering if maybe tickling one's fancy was purely an American expression, but according to this, no. Although it does say that since the '70s it has been more commonly used in the US than in Britain. Did not know it once had a naughty connotation as well as the innocent one I had in mind! https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/272353/was-tickle-someones-fancy-originally-a-double-entendre
