Why we expect so much from men?

If women have freedom to choose whether they want to be housewife or work outside then why can't men choose? Why men does not have freedom to play house husband or stay at home dad? Why we always expect men to find a job and earn money?

Because as much as we've fought "the patriarchy", many women are still attached to it in ways they don't even realize. Rather than a partnership of two equal, competent adults, some still think in terms of the white knight or the prince coming to save them. Men should be able to choose, and should also have such options without their masculinity being questioned.
