What's the longest online friendship or relationship that you've had?

@MissingNotes: Sure, that was the first year I had access to the Internet. Before that, in the late 80s, I had a number of friends on various Bulletin Boards, but we more or less lost track of eachother in the shift over to the internet

@ChampagneOnIce: Yeah - he lives in Oklahoma City. When I first got to know him, I was still in NZ. When we moved to the US from the UK, I was located by my company in Little Rock, and he came and stayed with us quite a few times. Not so much now we're in Florida, it's a longass drive either way.

@MissingNotes: I think it mostly happens about ppl mutually deep in a hobby (wargaming, which is mine, but I know ppl with similar longstanding friendships in the model railways, & r/c aeroplane modelling groups. Basically, all nerds together lol)
