@L0STF0X: You can't go to prison for defending yourself, your family, or others when threatened. Some years ag I shot 2 armed intruders. One lived and went to prison, the other didn't. No charges, no guilt.

@lastbabyboomer: Are you in Canada? We have to have equal force/exhaust all other options before shooting someone I'm pretty sure. (Feel free to correct me, I'm not well-read on those laws as I've always lived in the suburbs/city anyway).

I do remember a news story last year about a woman who was on 911 and asked permission to shoot an intruder while her and her newborn were alone in the home, and she wasn't charged. :)

@L0STF0X: I'm in the States, but even if there was a chance I'd be arrested or imprisoned I'd still defend my home family and self.

@lastbabyboomer: We've had people walk in before and our dog pretends to be a big scary hound and typically scares them away.

@L0STF0X: The sound of a 12 gauge autoload shotgun scares them more and you can't miss.

@lastbabyboomer: Yeah, but then people know you have guns (and we live downtown in the city). We'd be at a higher risk of a break in when we weren't home tbh

My boyfriend would dreeeeaaammm of having your gun laws.
