You don't get over it. It just eats away at you a little more each day until you find yourself addicted to an obscure, second-rate website polluted with trolls and perverts just so you can get enough attention to feel like your life mattered for a few seconds.

Sure, you'll try to learn things to occupy the time. Maybe travel or hike or take up a hobby. Maybe you'll "work on yourself" with the hopes that somebody will want to be with a better version of you. But they won't. Learning and doing things will help you out for a while, but eventually you'll realize that no matter how much you keep yourself busy, none of that can ever fill the void inside you.

Then you give up hope. You realize people only want you for as long as they can use you. You stop trying. You stop caring. You just get used to the fact that you matter to no one and look forward to your unceremonious death
