Anyone else think Trump is on point about getting NATO members to pay what they agreed to?

I don't like Trump, this is the only position of his I agree with. I was a NATO officer during the early nineties. It was an agreement each member nation agreed to when they joined. Before one of the 23 million Americans gets their medicaid eliminated we need to stop footing the bill for NATO members who don't live up to the bargain they signed up for.

I agree with you on the broad outline of what you say .. but tbh, I don't know the conditions of that pledge .. but I do know Trump has a tendency to tell half truths ... So my question is, does that 2% figure have to be reached by a certain time of is it from day 1?

@ozgirl512: When they established NATO it gave the founding countries time to work towards that %. I'm not sure what it meant to members who joined later. I thought it was 5% not 2% though. Still, for the founding members it's been 68 years.
