Right now it's learning about myself and changing my patterns of thought, and, little by little, I'm getting there.

@lovelywarpedlemon: That's a trap I fell into plenty of times in my younger years. Thinking that I could think my way out of my problems. That introspection was getting me incrementally closer to the edge of happiness or satisfaction or well-being.

But there is no edge. There is no threshold. You aren't just going to wake up happy one day. You're not getting closer to anything. You're just getting further from the parts of yourself that you struggle with.

At least you can say that the effort isn't in vain. You're making yourself a more self-aware person. It just isn't the change you need.
