Why do people care about others weight?

I read an article about a girl going to prom and she posted her prom pic of her and her boyfriend and someone said "wow he still loves you even though you're fat" like I don't understand why does ones weight matter to anyone else?

Believe it or not there are people out there that so shallow that they believe anyone who is overweight don't deserve love.
