Can you imagine this?

Today on You Tube I saw a 300 lb. pig who is an indoor house pet, he is potty trained and actually uses the toilet, then he went into the kitchen, opened the fridge, pulled out the veggie bin at the bottom and fetched himself an apple, it was so cute. Pig are highly intelligent.

@Fungirlmmm: Yep most pigs can learn a new trick in one to 2 days depending on age and complexity .

Pigs have long been considered to be smarter than dogs. Ironically, it is also one of the cleanest animals around. A pig will refuse to defecate anywhere near the area where he lives and eats when he is given a choice. You can train a pig just like a dog or cat, but what makes their intelligence remarkable is the complex social lives that behaviorists once believed to be the purview of primates. Mother pigs have been found to sing to their piglets while they are nursing. They excel at video games that would be hard for a young child, and sometimes better than the primates.

Also, like primates and other smart animals, they learn from watching one another, often working to outsmart each other. One pig will often follow another pig to food before grabbing it away from him, and the pig who was tricked will change behaviors to reduce how many times it is tricked.
@1GHOST: Thank you for posting a really great thumbnail essay on the behaviors of pigs, it is folks like you who are out there teaching young people that unlike biblical teachings, our true purpose and attitude is NOT to dominate or rule over the "beasts and fowl" but rather to co-exist on this tiny little village we call earth, respect and compassion for all these wonderful animals. 馃檴

@Coyotedave611: Thank you .
There is an old saying :

Dogs look up to us .
Cats look down on us.
But... pigs look at us as equals.

@1GHOST: Yes. He whistles. They were keeping a strange looking bird when he was a young little cuddly baby. He makes a sound similar to what that bird made when he gets excited. It is hilarious. And he gets jealous if you don't let him first. I grew up on a farm and we had pigs cows chickens ducks and so many other animals. We loved on all of them like they were a dog or other pet. We had more than a few that past away from old age because I would get attached and my dad couldn't stand to make me sad so he would let me keep them forever.
