Why do people tend to thrive on other people's drama? Don't they have enough to contend with in their own lives?

[c=#BF0080] Lol I know right?! It takes all of me to survive my own life I don't need anymore! 🙈 But I think sometimes it's the distraction. If you focus on someone else's stuff you can distract yourself from your own. Also it can make people feel better about themselves. They think "well I may be bad, but at least I'm not thattt bad!" All kinds of reasons really. I don't care for drama myself but it's entertaining to lots of people for various reasons. For me I understand the desire for escape and distraction, but I tend to favor doing that in ways like learning new things, understanding other people's stories and experiences or doing things myself and not so much just drama for dramas sake. It's stressful and irksome and tiresome to me.[/c]
