Is 27 (years) old? I'm starting my first job at 27 - I feel old. Will it be awkward?

@bijouxbroussard: I saw the updated question. It's not too old at all. People are entering the job market for the first time at much later ages than that for various reasons (divorce, widowhood after having been a homemaker, for example).
