And so the age old question becomes, "Why are people so afraid to be who they are...why so much pretense?"

Shakespeare was right, "All the world's a stage..." People sometimes can be so phoney. Makes no sense, as one's true colors eventually shine through...why can't people just be who they are? I don't get it.

I have come to the conclusion that it is so we will more greatly appreciate those who elect to be sincere and genuine. Especially online.

@WellFrog: That's a positive spin and a great way of looking at it. Further, it's as Sod's law indicates in part: Have no great expectations, suffer no great disappointments....adding to that if something good happens, it's like a bonus. :)

Grains of salt in quantities akin to grains of sand on a tropical beach become a necessity when dealing with most you find online. Yet truly every rule has its exception.

In the bastion of pretense, those who are themselves become unique by default.
