The katzenklavier ("cat piano") was a musical instrument made out of cats. Designed by 17th-century German scholar Athanasius Kircher, it consisted of a row of caged cats with different voice pitches, who could be "played" by a keyboardist driving nails into their tails :P

@sillygirlgonecrazy: It's called Meowsic. I think they're out of production now. If you left it on without playing it after a while it would purr itself to sleep.
@sillygirlgonecrazy: It was a lot of fun for several years. One of the best $40 I've ever spent. lol. Hopefully it's getting a lot of smiles out of the present owners. What was yours like?
