How was 420 invented?

To all you stoners out there. There are many mysterious myths and legendary legends about how 420 started. Personally its hard to tell how the hell it really started cuz everyone tells a different story. So let me know what youve heard or how u think it started. Pce

I figured it might be about the time after school when young people would meet up in the afternoon...just enough time to get home, dump the backpack, grab a snack and then meet for dooby-time and go back home for dinner.
