Are you bilingual?

I can speak English, and a tiny bit of Greek and Italian (just very basic stuff and random words).

I can read Italian, and understand it better than if someone was speaking to me in Italian. If that makes any sense.

It's the other way around when it comes to Greek though.

It makes perfect sense. I can read French much better than I can understand the spoken word because I'm seeing it at a speed at which my brain can process it. People don't speak slowly enough for my brain to process one sentence before they move on to the next and the next. By the time I've finished absorbing the first thing they've said, they have moved on to a totally different topic.

Yes, that's exactly how I am! When my Italian teacher is speaking to us in Italian, I try to digest the words he's saying, but when I finish understanding what he had said, he's already said another million things.
