You'll be leaving behind everyone and everything you ever knew and never be able to return, but get a fresh start in a completely new, though very rugged, place untread by mankind ever before.

Personally, I'd find it a difficult offer to refuse. But, boy, that loss of the internet would sting for a while. Maybe get a really laggy connection at some point, and eventually Mars would get its own internet so there'd still be some distant hope.

It depends.. will I have to struggle in making a new life there at Mars?

Well, you'd probably be living a colonial life. Not an entirely easy one, but you'd probably have no shortage of activities to take up your time and have lots to show for all your work.

@UndeadPrivateer: okay, also.. can I take a pet with me that will never die?
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
Hmmm.... Good question, and one I hadn't considered. I don't know how well an animal would deal with the 6-12 month journey in a little spacecraft. Cats would probably be fine.

No guarantees on never dying though. Better bring lots of cats, become the Martian crazy cat lady.

@UndeadPrivateer: oh gosh.. I'm on it. I'm going to find EVERY stray cat and bring them with me.
