If contribution is required I contribute. I answer the qns I like.

I'm the same way mostly. Answering trivially is just a way to waste everyone's time, I feel

@HalfCactus: Do not knock off triviality or qns that on the fly may appear attention seeking. Sometimes, a little bit of fun and mischief can do wonders to ones mood.
People on SW are very quick to judge the way others behave without actually taking the time to think why someone may want to behave that way.
We're all out here after all for our own personal reasons.

@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: I tolerate trivial questions if it encourages amusing answers. I asked one earlier today.

But I won't deny that people are here for different reasons. I think that all anyone can attract by giving superficial answers is superficial people. If that's what people want, that's fine for them. I just don't see the point of doing that. It turns into a race to the bottom. A perverse popularity contest. The problem is that it's not just a little bit of fun. It's constant. It's daily.

Our societal structures are devoid of meaning and purpose enough as it is. For people to continue that kind of aimless existence on here is beyond me

@HalfCactus: I get what you mean. And I also get that is what some people are all about.
The common culture today seems to be a 'look at me, I am awesome' one. We can all see around on various social sites. People want instant gratification and ego boost and get hooked on it.
But then there are also those who mix serious with silly. And their kind of trivial is the nice kind of diversity for me.

@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: A little bit of wit with their flippancy is appreciated. Far too often, however, it's just gratuitous thoughtlessness

@HalfCactus: We agree. It's kind of sad, and makes me wonder. Can intelligence be lost if not practiced or put to use?
I mean, how much of it is required in taking and posting selfies in different clever poses after all?
I may make this a QnA post, for variety of answers.

@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: I look forward to it
