It wasn't abuse ha.

@lucetta12: He's gotten in trouble for animal cruelty. He has an INSANELY bad rep in most dog trainer circles, for damn good reasons.
lucetta12 · 36-40, F
@NorthernRoses: those people are clearly pussies. They are dogs they aren't babies. They need to know you're the boss, not them.

@lucetta12: You have to remember that Caesar Millan has no education or formal background when it comes to dog training. You know who does? Dog behaviorists, veterinaries, and veterinary behaviorists. You know what they all agree on? Ceasar Millan's "dog training" being more harm than good. In fact, there have been multiple studies showing that asserting dominance over dogs actually increases aggression in those dogs.

The pack dominance theory that Caesar seems to mostly act upon was debunked long ago by the guy who created it. Dogs and wolves do NOT have Alpha-dominated pack structure, and there is no such thing as alpha dogs or wolves. There is no supreme pack leader. There is no natural dominance hierarchy.

Dogs are not on a quest for world domination. They are not socialized wolves who are constantly striving to be “top dog” over us, and they are not hard-wired to try and control every situation they are in. Most canine behavior problems stem from insecurity and/or a desire to seek and maintain safety and comfort – not from a desire to establish higher rank and be the “alpha” over you.

I know this is probably really hard to hear, but he really is an absolutely awful trainer. I used to love his show until I learned about actual dog training.

@NorthernRoses: I know, he's been round dogs for years and he hasn't learned anything 🙄. They totally do try to be alpha. If you have a dog in your house and you treat it equal to you, you're gonna have a problem. Dogs need to know you are the alpha and not them. If they know you are weak, they won't do anything you say and if it's a breed that needs to know it's place and you don't give it to them, that shit is fucking dangerous. Walk in a house with dogs and you will know who the pack leader is and it shouldn't be the dog, it should be everyone else who lives in that house. You clearly don't know anything about dogs in the wild.

@lucetta12: They do not try to be alpha. There is no such thing as an Alpha dog. Please talk to some dog behaviorists or trainers to get accurate information, because your knowledge of this is heavily outdated. Better yet; google it. Takes less effort.

Furthermore, I have grown up with four huskies. I own a medium-content Wolfdog. I have taken multiple courses and talked to various educated dog behaviorists to be able to handle said Wolfdog correctly. I don't have to scare her or shock her into behaving.

Please spend some time to do some actual research on dog behavior, because your knowledge of dog training and behavior is either lacking or outdated.

@NorthernRoses: you were around 4 dogs lol that's given you a lot of knowledge. I've been around dogs and worked with dogs
My whole life. I hope you don't own anymore dogs. Because if you need them training, send them to someone with a brain.
