Setting the hand to page with a pen probably activates a different set of neurons and synapses that are nearer to my real inner self. And it also slows down the rate of thought to sentence to documentation happening which I think raises the fluency rate by some measure.
I could be wrong, but I don't mind if I am. A tangible page just seems more real, anyway.

I agree. I always write by hand, it slows me down and makes it easier to translate my thought images/words easier to translate.
