Do you know how to interpret art? If so, what does this painting mean?

If that's supposed to be a rock, instead of the penis it looks like, I'd say it's exploring the connection between the living and non-living in the natural world. There's no other trees or rocks in that picture so it seems that tree could not exit without that rock.
