Do you know how to interpret art? If so, what does this painting mean?

It's a depiction of a struggle during a separation. The tree, upon looking closely, seems to be holding onto its other half as it leans away. The tree being a single object could signify a couple, the stone that now looks to be where the other half is leaning to could be the other half leaving and seeking a new home, "build your house upon the rock".
