It's raining here. Do you like the sound of the rain?

I also grew up under a tin roof. The sound of rain on a tin roof is etched in my brain forever.

It's a very comforting and secure sound. It brings the awareness that everyone outside is running for cover and everyone inside is staying put. It's a feeling that my immediate world is in the hands of mother nature and we will be able to resume whatever we were doing before only when mother nature says so.

I loved awakening to the sound in the middle of night; and to be promptly put back to sleep by the pleasant sound.
