Apartment rentals in Canada, higher or lower in US dollars.?

I only earn $1000.00 a month in social security could that work in Canada?

@MikefromEP: I lived in ND for many years near the border, I know Winnipeg and can handle the weather, not ideal but I can survive that.

@MikefromEP: I know it does, thats why I moved back to Ca. I guess it's a give and take. I'm really down on the USA at this stage of the game, Winnipeg is lovely even in winter and there are tons of things to do there. I think I could probably handle it again.
