I was going to say that I am strong but in the midst of a depressive episode, i don't feel very strong!

So instead I will say... that thoughts are temporary and not real/true and that if I hold on to that, I will not sink too low in my depression where suicide seems like a good answer. If when I find myself in a midst of a episode, if I can just think a slightly more productive thought that the original thought and the next day, think a slightly better thought and if I continue on like that, slowly moving up the emotional scale, thoughts can be changed and I can make it thru another episode as long as I stay aware and mindful of my thoughts and that they are not real and can be changed.

Of all the answers here, yours definitely spoke to me the most. I've also learned to fight my way out of the depressive episode through my thoughts. Hope is so fragile when you're depressed, and you have to slowly piece it back together to get yourself back to a sense of normality.

Thank you for your insightful answer
