Why do people pluralise words by putting an apostophe then an s?

It's truly bizarre 🤔

To be clear: I know what an apostrophe is for. I'm asking because I've seen comments where people have used apostrophes to form plurals. One example I remember is "body's" instead of "bodies".

I know that. But I've seen comments online where they use words like "body's" when they clearly mean "bodies". That's just the one example that I recall the most clearly, but there are others.
