This may seem ridiculous to ask, but why can't people just be honest about themselves?
Is it the fear of rejection...low self-esteem....or the inability to tell the truth that causes some people to not be honest about themselves in general?

I would have to say it's everything you said. And it's also a sign of weakness. I hate liars they are the worst kinds of people and should be cut off right away because it tells you exactly what type of people they are
