I plan on going to a concert in a super touristy area in the UK. My family is up in arms about it because I’ve never been outside of the country by myself. One of them wants to accompany me “just in case”.

@Sorceress I understand your frustration and wanting to do things, but as someone who lives in the UK, no woman is safe walking around alone here. I worry if I see a stranger walking alone it’s that bad.

It only takes one psycho walked into 20 minutes to ruin 10 years of your life. So I get the protectiveness though I don't agree with it.

Have you taken up fighring or strength training? Its a poor way to live, living in fear. But it is far more poor to not arm yourself.

In my experience, people who arm themselves with the experience are safer in both body and mind to exercise freedom.
