Have you ever woken up

during surgery? I have, I was getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed. They were growing into my skull so there was some digging. Anyway, I woke up, looked down and saw that the bib and my shirt were covered in blood. I moaned, heard someone say “oh shit she’s awake” he put me out again and then I woke up in recovery lol

Were you under general anesthesia? I had a dental procedure where I was given nitrous oxide, and was in and out. Felt really weird. I had the same wisdom teeth procedure under general anesthesia. I woke up in recovery.

I don’t remember though I do remember one time waking up in recovery and the nurses looked nervous… they said when I originally woke up I tried to fight and they had to hold me down (I have absolutely no memory of this I only know what they said and I had bruises all over) I only remember waking up that time not before then

@RebelRaven the surgery this happened with was one they went through my cervix for I just looked it up and I think it’s the same positioning that would be absolutely terrifying I’m so sorry… I don’t remember getting in position or anything like that but I met my surgeons afterwards and got physically ill and even now struggle with the fact I don’t truly know what happened in the OR (the surgeons were both male)

@RebelRaven honestly I think they are supposed to but I don’t know if there actually was in the OR I never got an actual answer on that just that all the nurses in recovery were female

No, but after being given 2 heavy sedatives that knocked out the entire floor of patients that were there for the same thing as me, I was wide awake and talking to the doctor and scared him 😂 he was an older guy and said that he never had a patient in all the years he’s been doing these procedures, fully aware of what’s going on. I asked the nurse why I didn’t get knocked out like everyone else I saw
and she said you got more sedatives than they did and it still didn’t work 🤣

@RebelRaven Yours was pretty craZy too! My medical history is a mystery to drs. Nothing ever makes sense. It wasn’t anesthesia, but anesthesia is usually pretty strong for me. It took me 12 hours to wake up and see my newborn the first time and during a minor procedure my blood pressure dropped insanely low, and I woke up on heart machines and drs/nurses shaking me but I kept going unconscious.

Nope, I’m full Italian(American) with the darkest brown hair. I don’t think we have any redheads in the family.

During my first and only colonoscopy so far, I woke up. I could see I was still in the operating room, but nothing hurt, so I asked, "Are we done?"

"Not quite yet," said the gastroenterologist. Then the anesthesiologist must have turned up the juice, because I was out again in seconds, and didn't wake up until I was in the recovery room. 🤭

I don't remember it, but was told i started to wake up twice on two separate occasions and had to have more anesthesia
