Am I just supposed to keep forgiving the people that hurt me?

SW-User
I know, right? Like, why am I frowned upon when I choose to not forgive someone, more than the person is frowned upon for what they did to ruin a friendship or relationship?!

That being said, I try to forgive then pretty much cut them out of my life.

Forgive them yes but don't forget. If someone keeps hurting you cut ties. Don't let them hurt you anymore.

If you like the pain and want it to continue yes. Myself I would rather find people that would help me grow and prosper as a human being and would allow me to do the same for them. Life is to short to stunt your growth. You may never know your limits being that at any time our time is limited.

No! I believe in second chances, I'd probably give a third chance, a fourth chance is a possibility...but there comes a point where your forgiveness has to end. Don't keep giving people chances they don't deserve.

Forgive them for yourself. You won't forget, and you won't always accept what they did but in order to move on you need to forgive. When you forgive, you put what they did or said at ease. Good luck.

Nope. It's more toxic to keep those people around. There comes a time when you need to sever ties with people that can't or won't treat you like they should.

Forgiving others is actually building your own personal strengths. You are not allowing resentments or bitterness to have a place within you.

If a person keeps hurting you, perhaps it's best for you to distance yourself from them.

Of course not. family and good friends probably should get a little more leeway though
